Chloe's Story

Chloe

15 year old Chloe knew she had to seek help the day she woke up in a Swindon car park facing a used heroin needle millimetres from her cheekbone. Having heard that Outreach could help people like her she came to the Day Centre.

Chloe had spent a life in care since being abused by their father when she was 8 years old. She’d been ‘sofa surfing’ with friends but moved on, concerned friends’ parents would contact Social Services and she’d return to care.

Chloe had not been prepared for the realities of life on the streets - particularly needle use, which she detested. But she’d already tried the crack pipe, and feared her drug problem was escalating.

With Threshold's assistance Chloe was placed in supported housing that day, and began the real battle of learning to face the emotional turmoil that blighted her everyday existence. But Chloe is getting help for her substance abuse problems, and continues in her accommodation and her new life.
