“On the face of it your pro-active approach appears to be twice as expensive as the passive “bed and breakfast” approach offered by other agencies.”

In fact our approach works out to be 15 times cheaper: here’s how.

The passive approach incurs not only the annual bed-and-breakfast costs, but also the attendant cost to society through damages associated with antisocial behaviour (mainly theft and property damage in B&B’s, plus costs incurred by Social Services, Druglink, Police and other support organisations.)

Moreover, the passive approach can continue for life, as it does not address recidivism; its ’lifetime’ costs could be as much as £500,000 per individual, compared to around £32,000 for the active approach we adopt: one-fifteenth of the total cost, hence our enthusiasm for following this path.
