Our Projects - Street Outreach
The Street Outreach Team’s main task is getting rough sleepers off the streets and making sure all agencies play their parts.
This client group needs a response which is sensitive to their position and age. They are vulnerable people who have been living in hostels or longer-term accommodation and have lost their accommodation. Loss of accommodation is normally down to serious breaches of hostel rules this includes those people most at risk of rough sleeping.
As many as 75% of entrenched rough sleepers have major issues around drugs, alcohol or both. Consequently, prevention of homelessness requires a quality and consistency of service which gives accurate, professional advice, actively supports clients in finding and retaining accommodation, and/or advocating on their behalf.
