What We Do
Threshold currently provides a number of services to help homeless people in the Swindon area take responsibility to rebuild their lives. We now support 1,000 people per year, supplying accommodation, advice and support.
We run a Street Outreach Team for rough sleepers, and supported accommodation services in 9 hostels.
Our Resettlement Programme helps people find a home, but we also help them gain life skills so it is much more likely that they will keep jobs, return to education and become good neighbours.
Each client is assigned a dedicated Key Worker, who coordinates all the various agencies who between them offer the support the client needs.
The success of Threshold’s “Chance to Change” approach critically depends on working individually with each resident to develop their personal skills and self respect, starting with basic life skills such as money management, cooking, personal hygiene, domestic cleaning and laundry, with additional support available from trained Threshold staff on a 24/7/365 basis.
