Who We Are

35 Years of Helping Swindon’s Homeless

Threshold Housing Link started 35 years ago as the Swindon Cyrenians, with the single aim of helping homeless people in Swindon to change their lives.

Today we operate in a radically changing environment that is more challenging than ever before.

Threshold supports around 1,000 people each year by supplying accommodation, advice or advocacy. Welcoming vulnerable homeless people into our projects is only part of our role; preparing them to live independently is just as important.

We run a Street Outreach Team for Rough Sleepers and supported accommodation services in 9 hostels with support from the local authority and the Supporting People Grant.

Threshold employs 25 staff to manage our hostels and services. Our major sources of income are grants from government and charitable foundations and trusts and licence fee income, supplemented by fundraising carried out by Threshold itself and our many supporters.
